"WE HAVE A DATE WITH THE FUTURE At the end of the 17th United Nations Climate Change Conference in Durban, and at a time when the European Commission is adopting a new CSR strategy for the period 2011-2014, Philippe MANGEARD has given transport "a new appointment with the future": to encourage "shippers" to carry out a greater proportion of their transport using means that generate energy savings, reduce GHGs and negative externalities (noise, congestion, safety...).

AN IMMEDIATELY EUROPEAN, INNOVATIVE AND TRANSPARENT SYSTEM TK'Blue Agency is helping to establish a Virtuous Circle for a more sustainable economy: Strengthening companies' demand for high-performance transport solutions with low environmental impact, and facilitating their identification through a "TK'Blue" rating; Giving carriers access to significant volumes, making their "optimodal" transport solutions more competitive. This project, which originated in France and has a European dimension, mobilizes a team of experienced professionals, and is supported by major economic players in the transport and logistics chain, such as Carrefour. It enjoys the support of political and institutional authorities (OEET, CEN) and is in line with the objectives of the European Commission's White Paper on the future of transport policy in Europe.

TK'BLUE RATING: A LEVER FOR MORE SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT The "TK'Blue" extra-financial rating will be awarded to shippers according to criteria validated by a committee of independent European experts: Tonne-Km (TK) ratio achieved with eco-responsible modes of transport (sea, river, rail, road) Progression of this ratio compared with the previous year, Comparison with the average ratio for the sector concerned. The TK'Blue rating is a powerful tool for professionals to measure and promote their efforts in favor of the green economy. It assesses both their own progress in the use of eco-responsible freight transport, and their performance in relation to other players in their sector.
